Picknick is a vibrant and colorful porcelain collection designed by Marianne Westman for Rörstrand, produced from 1956–1969. The series includes up to 87 unique items, such as trays, serving bowls, casseroles, cutting boards, and butter dishes, all decorated with stylized vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms featuring hand-painted details and black outline decoration.
The Picknick line became one of Rörstrand’s greatest commercial successes, accounting for approximately 45% of the company’s sales at its peak. It is now regarded as a modernist classic in Swedish design history, blending practicality with a playful, graphic aesthetic.
